Well, he did it again. Aaron got two more plaques for his '74 "Dartster" at a local show. The police department of Harker Heights, Texas, annually sponsors a car show to benefit a local charity. Aaron took "Best in Class" in the "CLASSIC" category. We were walking away to leave and a guy came up to us and suggested we wait around a few more minutes I told Aaron that he might get "Best of Show" or something like that.

We waited through the announcements for a few more final classes and then the "Best of Show" was called up. It wasn't Aaron. Then they announced that the police chief was not able to make it to the show this year because of a personal emergency. So, they asked representatives of several car clubs to get together and select one entry they thought the chief would like the best. Out of over fifty entries, they chose Aaron's as the "Police Chief's Choice".

Pretty cool. :D Aaron was beaming when he went up for the plaque.
I'll try to get some pics posted, as soon as we get some good ones made.

Jerry

That's definitely the best way to be singled out by the police!

That's for sure. A few weeks ago, my wife came into the living room about 12:15 PM and asked, "Did you know the police are in front of the house with Aaron?" I was watching TV and did not see their flashing lights that woke her up shining through the window. I went outside to see what was going on. Aaron's car was parked in the driveway and a cop was parked behind him in the street. I asked what the problem was and the officer said he was going to talk to Aaron about driving a little to fast through our residential area. I explained to him that I had just called Aaron about getting home too late and I'm sure that's why he was in a bit of a hurry. I said I would "discuss" his driving with him when he got in the house and left him out there with the cop.

Fortunately for Aaron, the officer only warned him about slowing down. I had to cool off about that and the getting home late, so I waited until the next day for our "discussion."

I don't think I need to worry about his driving for a while,
Jerry
