Just found this great site, best automotive site I have come across. It has always been a dream of mine to build a german/autobahn type mopar with tall gears, MPFI, and turbo.
Just a few questions:

1. Is there any forged low compression rod/pistons available for the SL6?
2. Is it possible to use hydraulic or roller lifters?

I think you'll have to have custom made most of
what you reference. EFI is documented in the articles at this site.

Turbos don't usually need a radical camshaft, you
can have a custom steel roller camshaft made for $$$. The 80s slants have hydraulic lifters.

Do the 80's truck SL6 motors have the steel crank?

No, the forged steel cranks stopped in 1976 but the earler engine will swap-in.

With time, effort and the right parts, a SL6 performs very well. (BMWs watch-out!)

being good friends with a master machinist would help a lot too.
