I posted this thread (here: http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4815) wondering about a grinding noise. Well I just found out the girl who actually owns the Dart first heard it when the oil light in the engine started coming on (this thread: http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4819).

I'm wondering if maybe the two might be related in some way? They started at exactly the same time, and even though the engine has full oil (that's in dire need of a change), I suspect the passageways are clogged like a Seattle freeway.

Thoughts anyone?

Hope this isn't another chapter in the "oil pump gear failure" saga...

Yeah, me neither. But with only 70K miles, I wouldn't think the pump mechanicals would be bad. I'm gonna flush the engine out and pull and inspect the pickup screen and the pump itself. Hopefully I'll find some answers then...
