The /6 starts fine when choked. After driving a bit to warm things up, the choke flap is in the non-choked position. The stove works, the arm from the stove to the choke lever is free and working great. I shut off the engine. Now here's the weird thing: It won't start again unless I manually close the choke. Then it starts right up.

Hmm... any thoughts on this? I've read Doug's article on working with the choke... no problems with the vacuum, linkage is free. Maybe I missed something? Maybe it's an air fuel issue? Maybe the car wants a lollypop?

Thanks for any assistance on this!

Is the accelerator pump working, do you see gas squirt into the carb when you pump the throttle? You should be able to "pump" enough fuel into it for a restart.

It starts up if you close the choke, sounds like a vacuum leak, is the PCV valve stuck open?

Doug, I'll check the accelerator pump and the PCV valve (buy a new one) on Monday then try it again. Thanks for the advice. I like this method of ruling out problems (trouble shooting).[/img]
