I have an oil pressure gauge, and the oil pump has large threads at the end of the oil pump.

The sender I was sold for the gauge set up has smaller threads. I think there must be a sender for a gauge with large threads, but the auto parts store says its for a idiot light setup.

Does anyone know if there is a sender with larger threads for the gauge?

Yep, just go to Ace Hardware and spend .75 for a pipe reducer.

I've had better luck at Ace Hardware stores finding special fasteners, fittings, etc. for an automotive project than any of the auto parts stores.

The factory had to use an adaptor fitting to get the gauge type oil pressure sender onto the SL6, it is a special brass fitting because it has an angled tapped hole, this keeps the large "can" on the gauge type sender from hitting the block.

Many times I move this sender to a different place, like to the rear of the main oil gallery. (there is a casting "boss" there, some are already drilled and tapped)

If the new location is not an option, get a fitting that has a 45 degree bend in it, this will give you the clearance. You will need two brass fittings if you don't have the factory one, the first will be a 1/2 to 1/8 (?) reducer, then a 1/8 (?) to 1/8 45 (or 90) degree bend. ( the ? is because you can use other sizes as long as it starts as 1/2 NPT male and ends-up at 1/8 NPT female thread at the end. (with at least 20 degree of bend along the way)
