Sunday morning boredom set in so I thought i would share some pictures of my '37 Nash Lafayette.

Non slanted 6 cylinder although that may change MUHAHAHAHAHA

Picked this up for dirt cheap $750 from a friend and stowed it at my moms.
It did not have a transmission when I got it but I found one and installed it, took out the front seat and dropped it in in like 1 hour :D

There is so much room working on a car like this I got spoiled- 8)

The engine is uber clean (no pics) I need to drop the gas tank for inspection before I fire her up.
The type of engine is called a "sealed monitor"
The exhaust outlet is just the exhaust pipe bolted right onto the side of the block and held with U-bolts.

Long term project anyways.

Yes and no lol.
They are a thick veneer (1/4") of wood covered with a heavy duty contact paper with a wood grain print.

I think the wood was an older add-on then later sum1 put the paper over that.
I'd like to keep the real wood part though, the paper will just serve to trap water underneath.

You got it in that condition for $750? Care to double your money?

ummmmmm...no :) A friend had it stored for like 20 years in a garage (I never knew).
He was going to sell it to a mutual friend about 5 years ago but that fell through- when I was told that he was going to buy our friends Nash, I was like:
"Nash, Nash? what the hell does a 37 Nash look like?"
Fast forward 4 years... The property where it was stored sold, so for lack of a space to park it he gives it to the guy who was going to buy it. He, then stores it at a friends....guess what, that building gets sold and the car has to go once again LOL. He didn't want to deal with it.
The first time I saw it I loved it and made that clear. He tells me 750bux and you can have it, I couldn't get the money out of my wallet fast enough....its a keeper.[/i]

Wow. You have 2 very nice automobiles there. Some of those Nashes are quite cool.

Somehow, I knew you were gonna say that. But you thought about it for the time it took to type out "ummmmmm...no"....there's still hope!

So.....How's the arm mending? You have full movement by now? I think I would have at least gotten a pulled muscle going for the hip pocket that fast. Ya did real good.
