I just bought a 1969 Dodge Coronet 500 convertible. I want to find out how many of these cars were built and have searched the internet without luck. So my Q is if someone here can help me with this, or give a link or something to where I can find out.

It has a 383 engine, but I hope it´s ok to ask here anyway...all other Mopar-forums I have come across really su#k.

Usually from the VIN you can see which car yours was, ie 300th car. Look around for vin decoding websites, they might give some information as to how many total cars of that type were also made.
Call up YearOne (www.yearone.com) They have a good tech department that could probably give you some leads if your stuck.

The Standard catalog of Chrysler says that 32,100 Coronet 500s (all V8s) were produced in 1969. That includes all body styles. There were also Coronet R/T convertibles made, but not Coronet 440 convertibles. Total 1969 Coronet R/T production was 7,200 (again, no breakdown by body style). That's as much production data as I can find. There's gotta be a finer breakdown someplace, but I don't have it.

Sounds like it might be a task for Galen Govier, but he has a fee for such info. I don't know if it's in any of his white books, though.

Thanks for the quick answers so far! Now I have something to work with. Living in Sweden this particular car is even more rare, and I found out that there are 7 registered 1969 Coronets here. I don´t know what types they are though, but I find it hard to belive that there is more than 1 Coronet 500 convertible.

bstrand122,

Try the links to the VIN decoders on this site in the Articles section ( http://www.slantsix.org/articles/articles.htm ).

Also, you should fill out your profile. You are the first member I have seen from Sweden. It's fun to see where users are connecting from. I hope you get your answers here, even if it is not for a slant.
