Sounds like the solder joint is broken were it goes into the plate, resolder it or you will have a leak.

What do you think about using JB Weld or a similar product?

Thanks

I had this problem in my 67 Barracuda.... it was loose there.. except I didnt figure it out... I thought it was leaking as the seal..... if you any good at sodering... Fix it yourself... all you need to do is cook out the old soder... and redo it up again... make sure to align it right thou... otherwise you can take it to a raditor shop.....

And make sure its no where near gas when your soldering... solder metal, metal get hot, gas get hot.... you'll have a bigger problem then a fuel leak ;)

If you don't want to solder it yourself, I like the radiator shop idea. You can also buy a whole new sending/pickup unit from Year One or Laysons or Paddock for around $70.
