I am still up in the air as to whether I will be coming down. I really do want to race, and actually have the money for it, I am just not really keen on the idea of driving the Dart that far with no gauges.

I need to do the following before a decision is made:

Replace trans pan gasket,
Replace Rear cover gasket on differential
Adjust kickdown linkage
Install aftermarket gauge trio

The oil pump I am using currently does wierd things, and I don't want to end up stranded like what happened on the trip to Redding.

Weird things includes:

Oil light steady on @ idle when hot (~ 500 RPM in D)
Oil light on for minimum of 5 seconds on start (longer when cold)
Oil light flickers/flashes for a second or so on hard acceleration.

That last one is the one that worries me. My idle RPM is a little lower than normal, but it runs happily there, so I will leave it. The startup issue I figure is because there is no standpipe in the filter, or on the pump itself so all the oil is draining back down into the pan.

The temp gauge is really the one that I want to function, since running out of fuel is a potentially lesser risk of damage than overheating.

I am still messed up pretty good from the accident, so moving around the car to get stuff done isn't as easy as it used to be.

We shall see....

I should be in town for lunch, get my family and hotel room situated, and I'll probably be to the track to scope it out and get my competition number. I will run Friday night since I've been too busy to get to a Woodburn "Fun Drag"... That should give me the opportunity to see if I want to run the 390 or the 600 holley. Will be nice to see everyone there!

Wish I could have been there to see the racing with my camcorder. But the drive is way too long - over 2500 miles. Hey, just wondering, is anyone going to post the results?

well, I didnt win!!! Saturday I was cutting some sweet lights, the car didnt run in the 12's like it did here in Samoa, but did run a 13.17. My best light was a .007!! The the first round came.......did my burn out against Wayne, and the car developed a miss!!! I ran it anyway hoping wayne would redlight, or breakout.Nope....I ran a blistering 15 second run!!! I broke a valve, destroyed a piston bent pushrods,......so wayne won my round.

13 Cars at Medford...We missed many of our regulars but should show up in strehgth at Sacto and later at two day race at Redding. I think it was Glenn Terry and Wayne in "Waynes' World" in the final race. See you at Sacto.

Andrew, I am truly sorry to hear about your car. Hopefully you'll be up and running for Sacto.

We tried to make it to Medford and were on our way when the power steering unit in our RV started to freeze up just as we were getting into Sacramento. I would have muscled it up there but unfortunately the belts that drive that unit also drive the water pump. We barely limped home.

We're ready for the Sacramento event however and looking forward to seeing you all there.

Hey ,Wayne, people want to know. Wayne won the Saturday points race.He had the car dialed in and walked right through the field, Glen could not run the number in the finals and wayne took the stripe. P.J ran the semis against wayne and went .oo1 red,the other semi was eric and Glen.

Congrats Wayne. And sorry to hear about the gremlins for the others. I hope Sacto has a lot of cars there. And when those that go to Dave's house get there, you will love seeing the other Mopars he has there.
