These guys are awesome. I took a core camshaft out of a 64 225 in to these guys today and asked them how much it would be to regrind the cam to match the Erson RV10 cam profile. The first thing they asked me was, "What did it come out of?" I told them, "A 64 Chrysler 225." A guy walking by behind the counter mumbled, "A slant solid. Awesome." At that point I knew I was in the right place. The counter guy said, "We can put that profile on this cam no problem." The guy who had walked by then piped up, "Or you can buy one of the ones we have on the shelf." He knew the part number without looking it up, but they were out of stock.

Anyway, the cam will be done tomorrow. That's a 24 hour turnaround time. The price to regrind the cam will be $50. That's a big saving over buying a new one. Reground lifters (instead of new ones) cost me $3 each. It would have been $2 each if I had had a set to trade or had had my originals resurfaced for the new cam. They had 12 of the $3 reground lifters on the shelf. So, for a sum total of $90-$100 (don't know what the total with tax will be yet), I am getting the equivalent of a brand new Erson RV10 cam, without having to wait for it to arrive in the mail. Can't beat that with a stick!

I highly recommend these guys. Very pleasant and knowledgeable (when was the last time you heard a speed shop parts guy have anything nice to say about a slant?), and their prices are more than reasonable.

Picked up the cam today. Total for the regrind and 12 reground lifters was $80. Pretty good deal. THey even threw in two cute little tubes of assembly lube.

I had them regrind mine, to 280/270. They sold me the reground lifters at the $2 rate, even though my cores were in central Oregon. "Just bring 'em on in next time you're in town..."

I've used these guys for motorcycle cams. They are awesome! I sent them two sets of cores and said to use the best set. Well, they reground BOTH sets and charged me for one!

I'm doing another MC engine and plan to send them a set of cams for this one too. Can't argue with that!

do they re harden the cam? the factory heat treatment isn't very deep.
and remember the small block Shivvys of the 80s; many had flattened lobes withing 15K miles of new; add in today's oils and their lack of ZDDP and I'd be leery.

Chrysler had much better cams than Chevrolet. Many of us on the board use reground cams with no problems.
