Just picked up a Weiand Aluminum Intake (4bbl) for a Slant. What other carbs besides the 8007 Holley 390 are being used? street/strip.

500 and 600 Edelbrock's are being used and work very well.

I have used the Edelbrock 1801 AVS and 1404 AFB carbs (both 500 CFM). The AFB seems a bit better, actually, on a mild motor. Bolt on and go. You'll get some secondary bog with a mild motor.

The 4412 Hly 500 2bbl is great for throttle response and power, even on a mild motor. I have run this carb for the last 19 yrs on about every Slant engine I've owned and it has worked well. VERY simple to install (Mr. Gasket adapter plate) and run on the street and strip. Only downside is it's hard to get perfectly tuned for both best mileage and best power at the same time, but I'm picky... Get one with elec choke.

Lou

Thanks Lou, I have a 4412 to use. Things are coming together.
I am anxious to install. May go with Lokar cables for throttle & kickdown unless I can fab it all together. Let me know when you send the stuff so I can start dismanteling.
