I have what I believe to be the last version of the DC racing manual, all things covered, slant 6 through hemi, chassis, body, drive train, auto/manual trans., pro stock and sub catagories.
Just wondering if the slant manual on pdf was copiied or bought rights to or? because they could do it with mine for trans. and drivetrain if not more.

I know nothing about the origin of the manual in the article section in the forum.

There was a copy available on http://flag.blackened.net/mopar/index.html , but that web address seem to be unmaintained now. What is missing in the one in the forum article section, are the first lines from the blackened.net edition, which are as follows:

The html version is a copy if the blackfkag page. The PDF appears to be a copy of the html version that I ocr'ed from my 1978 version of the DC manual with a couple of pages added.

Take the Mopar manual with a grain of salt. It was intended to sell parts, not make you fast.

I agree, according to the old DC parts catalogs, the ones that suggested what parts to buy, depending on desired ET, my car shouldn't be as fast as it is,

I agree with field tested results over anything but the articles do introduce one to things like, what comprised of the R/T package or a track pack option, so you can install the pinion snubber and extra leaf on the right rear of any car. And mine shows how to relocate springs, setup a four link axle, what a moter plate entails, oiling systems up to pro stock level, etc. and since its all on MOPAR the need is there, here.

That is what history is all about, you can find an idea that preceeded the one you are working on.

I wanted to know if the Chrysler Performance Manual was still under copyright enough to need permission from them to reprint.

Copyrights are good for 70 years. Copying portions of a book can be considered "fair usage". But I am not a lawyer, so buyer beware...

Also I figure that Chrysler doesn't care about obsolete manuals and cataogs.

We could get this for the chassis, driveline, transmission and body, but it is fun to answer questions too, we like our history.
