Hi everyone!
I'm new here, so i thought I might as well introduce myself!
I've been following this forum for a while now and got a lot of info from it.

My name is Job and I live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
I'm 25 years old and I drive a 225 slant powered Barreiros Dodge Dart 270 which was born in the year 1965. It's a Spanish car, made under licence of Chrysler, only 1200 were made. 1965 was the first year of production. Not many are left, so I guess I have to take good care of it.

If you guys have more info on these cars, let me now!!

The engine in the car is in fact a newer one from a newer Barreiros. The Barreiros logo ( sort of an "8") can be found on the 1 barrel intake and other parts of the car. The speedo is in km/h and goes up to 180 ( Wouldn't that look cool in US car?? :D )

And it's got a 4-speed manual, yeah!

I had to change the 13" wheels over to 14", cause I placed 4 piston kelsey hayes dis-brakes on the car. When I got the car it in fact had disc-brakes ( yep, under the 13" !!) But I wasn't able to find parts to fix these up.
Originally it had a Hydrovac booster unit and a single master. But the previous owner put a dual system in it ( Which didn't work, cause the master was too small for the discs - took a while to find out,..)

I'll be installing the Clifford 2x3 headers soon, and I'm thinking of going with another cam and electronic ignition, but not sure yet which parts suit the best,.. any info always welcome.
Another upgrade might be the proline fuel 2x2barrel setup ( offenhauser/ webers)

Ofcourse I'll take good care of the original parts!

It's great to see how good this site/ forum is designed and taken care of! Thumbs up for that!

I'll try to post some pics now:
( The engine comp. pics are old, already looking better now haha)

Interesting brake cylinder setup. It looks like it has a BBD.

Very Cool. The US models didn't have the 4 speed with a Slant 6 option for 1965 so your car is even rarer!

Very nice indeed! Never knew they existed... I've been to Europe, and occasionally you'll see some old US steel driving around... It's very cool!

Thanks everyone! You can find some more info on these cars on the following website:
http://www.comunidadodge.es.vg

Mine will be on there soon.

You can use this Babelfish to translate it in English:
http://babelfish.altavista.com

About the brake setup in the pics: The previous owner used a booster and MC from a Chevrolet ( Don't know what model) , because the rod between the booster and pedal was too long he fabricated an adapter,.. Looked pretty special, but WHY didn't he just make a new rod?? Would have been more easy, I'm sure. Anyway the MC turned out to be too small ( for the 4 piston calipers).

Right now I've got an original Mopar booster & master and now the brakes work fine!

I'm not familiar with the term BBD, but I guess you meen the carb? The carb is in fact a Carter 0-2285 ( had to look that up haha)

We havent got that many old US cars driving around, most of the cars here are small ( but pretty fast) cars,..

Another thing about the engine, it has an aluminium valve cover. I haven't seen these on other cars, were they ever produced on American slants? And how about the chrome air-filter housing?

The black hoses and the thing on the side are parts of an LPG system, which was put in by one of the previous owners over here.

The radiator comes out of a Ford, but I got the original with the car, so I'll try to get it fixed someday.

Now some more photos of the car/ interior ( I always like watching photos, sorry for the ones with slow-internet,.. ):

Seems like I have a 2 barrell instead of a 1! Hmmm,.. I was sure it was a 1 barrell, cause it's not really that fast! The engine idles great, but doesn't act like something close to a rocket when you hit the pedal, So in a way I'm a bit dissapointed,.. ah well,.. Anyway it's time for more power. :D

That is to cool! I've heard about those for the first time a couple of years ago. Heard they can do 120mph (200kph or so) with ease too! Those wheel covers look like the '70-'71 Dart covers. A BBD is a 2bbl carb., made by Carter (the BB means Ball and Ball). Electronic ignition is an easy up grade, though it might be alittle harder for you to find the parts in Europe (or look at ebay and pay up the ying-yang for shipping). I would use the Pertronix electronic ignition. Everything fits under the distributer cap with no wiring to add like a factory type upgrade. Very nice and welcome to the board! 8)

That is a cool dart! It also is the first export slant six two barrel I have ever seen! You also should have the "performance" export two barrel camshaft which actualy became the standard cam in 71-up slant sixes. This is one awesome car! Definitely kep us posted and put up some more pictures!

It worked! I placed an add on internet asking for a slant block, and I got a reply. It's a 1968 one with low milage on it ( So I guess it has all the forged stuff and the better head design), a rebuilt head and and extra head that goes with it. It also has electronic ignition from a later type engine!

Not sure yet what he's asking for it, but I don't think it will be expensive!

Yeah, happy with this! :D

This way I can built a performance ( street) engine, while the original stays in the car.

I'm not sure about the cam in it, to be honest. The hubcaps I have on the car now are indeed the later type Dart ones, cause I had to change to 14" wheels. The one on the photo is the original, with the Dodge ánd Barreiroslogo in one.
I drives 140km/h ( that's 87 mph) with no problem, it can go faster but I haven't tried that yet, I have to get a roadworthy certificate for it first ( Every year we have to get our cars ( older that 3 years) mechanicly checked, and I still have some work on it.)

Ok, some more photo's,.. after this,..
Also have some small videos ( made by my dig. photocamera) of my car, Would anyone know how to put these on internet??? :?:
Does anyone else have videos of slant cars? I would really like to see some!

the 2nd and 3rd are the strange brake parts that I had to pull. Anyone any info on these parts? You can see the hydrovac booster and caliper pieces in photo2 and the strange ( empty! What was in it? Great place where air can get trapped!) tri-way devider thingy that was on the rear on photo3.
