 Post subject: late model valiant hood

I have two 1975 Valiants. Both are beaters. On both, the sheet metal that holds the hood latch mechanism is almost completely rusted away. In the old days you would go to the junk yard and get a new hood. If you were lucky you would even find one the same color as yours.

Clean hoods are not as easy to find these days. Not impossible, just not easy. One options is hood pins but I really don't like the look. This looks to be a common problem. Anyone come up with a creative solution?

I can see it if you use the URL tags and click on the red highlighted 'link'...but it doesn't work as an IMG for some reason...

That hood looks like it came from a leper colony junkyard...it's not pretty...
