I was wanting to install a autometer temp guage with a thermal couple and was wondering where or if any members have Installed one in there slant pics would be every helpful

I will look for pics if I have any, I drilled and tapped the head at the thermostat area to install the probe.

I usually install the fitting in the thermostat cover.
Off-set it to the outlet side to avoid contact with the "peak" of the thermostat, under the cover.

Doc did you just drill and tap the thermostat housing or did you have to brazen it I like the idea it seems simple enuff

I installed one on my race engine using the old heater hose nipple on the head. I removed the heater hose nipple and installed the adapter to the thermocouple that leads to the mechanical gauge.

If you still use the heater on your car a pipe T could work for this..

Greg that's a great idea thanks I already have a couple tees and some ball valves for my heater hoses too the water inlet on my Clifford intake
I don't no why I didn't think about it
