Thanks. The rims are actually a pair of old aluminum slotted mags. I bought them off of eBay from a junkyard in CA. They were pretty corroded when I got the, but the faces polished up OK. I am concerned that I should have spent some time polishing the bead surface as well as the face. The rims leak around the entire circumference of the bead seating surface. :?

I need to get new tires anyway since the tires are the wrong size for the front wheel openings on my brother's Duster.

Thanks for all the feedback fellas.

The car has been up on stands this whole time. Norm warned me that the slicks leaked down pretty quick.

Now that I'm actually paying some attention to it and hope to get it back on the ground at some point I figured I'd better put this on my "To Do List".

I used to have the same problem. Dish soap works very well. But make sure your beads are clean and smooth.

I took my old rims and junked them, spent the money on the lightest wheels I could afford and change my slicks every 2 years, and my fronts accordingly.
If they look suspect they are. DO NOT try to save money by buying used wheels or tires for your race car!!

Besides the lighter the wheel the faster you will go and the faster you will be able to stop...
