Heard from Bristol today regarding the 2004 Mopar Mania event.

I'm asking for suggestion from you guys on ways to make this years event better. Free entry or bigger purse(within reason). Did you like the bonus for car count? Lets hear those suggestions so that I can go ahead and get things rolling.

Tom, is the event date confirmed, I heard talk about a date change.
I like the idea of free race entry, we have never tried that before.
As always, it's nice to pay-out for special things like best reaction time or best ET / MPH or other "fun" acheivements at the event. (long distance or hard luck award)

Doug,
Everything they are telling me is that it will be the weekend of May 29th & 30th. They had the schedule up at one time but have taken it off their website. The person I dealt with last year told me that Mopar Mania was set for this weekend.
I really am going to try and push for free entry if you enter another class other than the Slant 6 race. It is at least worth a try. Maybe if I put a little money in their pocket they might go for it. Also what do you guys think of the fast four race?? Do we need to try and run it? Maybe come up with another type race to highlight the fast cars. Any suggestions? I am hoping to have some kind of update ready by the time we have our TN meeting.

Thanks

Tom Drake

Could you move the track closer to Florida?

Bristol is on the border of Tennesee, and Virgina. Mapquest say 512 miles from Philly. and 658 miles from me, in Fl.

I know what would make it better...

1. Less friendly, helpful and generous Slant 6 racers.

2. Worse facilities.

3. More rain.

4. Move it further away from Georgia.

Bristol was my first Slant 6 race and the fellow Slant 6 racers, the hot showers, and the proximity to Atlanta pretty much got me spun up to get more involved. (Just what my wife was hoping for!) Okay, the rain idea is 50/50. The rain all day Saturday brought several people over to help and give suggestions on the Duster, but I did get to run on Sunday. :D

Bristol this year will probably be the last event I'll be at for 3+ years. I go to school the next week and then off to Germany, so I'll be there in May!
