A real time warp, a super-strippo model, and I love it!

A real strippo model, rubber floor mats, and some other crazy stuff. Slant six (of course!) three speed on the tree. Must have the 3.23s in the 7.25. Previous owner said it got about 19-21 mpg!

One of the previous owners already has headers, dual exhaust, an oil pressure gauge, air shocks, and some kind of aftermarket ignition.

Hehehe.... Well, right now its not much to look at, I'm leaving it close to stock and fixing and cleaning 36 years of neglect (everything) and get an assessment of my project. I'm using it as a daily driver, and getting incredible mileage, especially compared to the '68 Charger with a 440, 4 speed and 3.91s I was driving daily.

I know a four door is not everyone's ideal project, but I'm fairly stoked to build it up. Got a nice image in my head of a vintage four door sedan with a four on the floor, lowered in the front just enough to give it a good look. Definately keeping the bench seats. Rebuild the suspension, swap in disc brakes and add big sway bars, get some decent wide rubber, but keep the steel wheels with dog dishes. Not sure about the paint; that can wait though. The Challenger is going Sublime green first!!

Nice, dude. I just got myself the same thing, only a 67, about 3 weeks ago. Grandma owned since day 1, then sat when she died in like 1998. Only recently driven by the grandson, and then I bought it for $1200. The original 170 blew and they put in a 225 at some point.

The rubber floor is dying but serviceable... I know it will be incorrect but I have to have carpet eventually.
I'm all with you on the steel wheels, too. I have trim rings on the way and later this week the wheels are going to the powdercoaters for white. Same hubcaps, too. I love them.
Other than that I just have some minor things to work at, package tray, glove box liner, some wiper accesories need replacing, and like I mentioned, the flooring... maybe new paint in a year.
I had a passenger side leak which I might have fixed today... I had to unclog the right cowl drain and running water in there produced no water inside... we'll have to wait until it rains again to see for sure.
It will be a nice little rear-up, muscle-car's-little-brother driver. But I don't think I will go much farther than a Super Six (Or Dual Offy) plus headers performance-wise. I only need it to go fast enough that I won't get honked at on the freeway. I have my 62 to race around needlessly if I want... =)

Interesting about the leak, it was raining pretty badly here today, and the driver's side started leaking. I'm at work, so I wasn't sure what it could be, I'll try unclogging the cowl, too.

I know your pain with the rubber floor mat. Mine is trashed under the driver, but nice everywhere else. Wish they reproduced 'em, Rick Covalt (super nice guy on here!!!) was very nice and sent me a four on the floor carpet that will go in once I get the hump welded on. I bought a slant-six OD four-speed set-up for it, and I can't wait to get it in!

This is sort of a random question, but do you know if the 67 and 69 taillights will interchange? I'm toying with the idea of get 68 lights, purely for looks, but who knows..?

Hey Scott, hang on to all that weird miser stuff if you decide to remove it from the engine, I might be interested in it. :D

I got an Aspen parts car!

All I had to do was replace the Electronic Ignition Module (had a spare orange box in the garage!), and it runs like a champ. I live in California, where smog laws killed my chances of ever finding any Super Six set-ups in a junkyard. This one came from Kansas, has a great working Super Six, and an Overdrive four speed on the floor.

Fun driving a car like this for a little bit. Got lots of looks. :o The difference from this and the Valiant are incredible. The funky Aspen shifter has to go, I have a nice Indy shifter for it. I can't wait to get the whole drivetrain in. I want to use the disc brakes also, but I'm not sure if they're a straight swap in.

I just finished swapped the complete drivetrain Super Six/Overdrive 4 speed from a '77 Aspen wagon into my '68 Valiant.

Part 1 has been completed. The Four on the Floor is in, as well as an unexpected Super Six. Time for part 2; the Disc Brake swap!

Hey RabidScott, nice bumperpushbars there! looks like a police package stuff...

You've got Signet taillights and 14" wheels on the car as I can see.
