Beer doesn't make a Super-6 installation easier, it only makes it seem easier. Carter BBD operation and repair manual (pdf). |

here is the exhaust manafold, 2 cans of blue paint where defective and the parts store was out of blue and black so ........... its orange! ![]() ![]() you can see the cutout choke pocket here: (i wish i knew not to do that cause it was a &%#$!) ![]() i am still working on the carbrator, i just might take it to a carb shop and have them do it. next weekend i should make it up to wildcat and grab my missing kickdown parts & the fuel line (fuel pump to carb) off a super six bbd sl6. i just need one of those nice australian gaskets for the manafolds. oh and have the manafolds leveled @ a machine shop. |

Someone should build a slant six powered Civil War cannon. Nice work on the manifolds, Don't torque 'em together till they're on the head. Paul Olds |

Nice paintwork...be ready, though, because only the very highest of high-temp paint (VHT) keeps its colour at the temperatures the exhaust manifold will see. Regular engine paint will fry and emit a great deal of stinky smoke until it's all gone. |

I have had pretty good luck with woodstove paint. It only comes in silver and black afaik. |

well the paint is 1200 F so i hope it holds for a while. funny that you mentioned woodstove paint 70valiant cause i was actually thinking of using it but i could only find black. well a slant six civil war cannon would be cool. but what would be even cooler is armoring my dart then mounting the cannons on it. i bet my race times and gas millage woudl suck. but it would prove quite usefull in downtown traffic. the only prob is they are single shot, and i bet the recoil would toss an A body back a few feet. |

I used the silver on my clifford shorties. Once painted you start it untill they smoke then shut it off, let them cool, and do it again 2-3 more times and the paint will not peel off. |

makes sence i had to cook the paint on both manafolds using my gas heater ... its in one of the picts, for about 200 deg for 24hrs on all sides. then i used a electric test probe from my fish tank to get that temp. kinda getto but it was all i could do. gonna let it idle for a bit once they are on and i hope they dont cook to much |
