| Post subject: | Engine mounts? |
While I was working on the Dart today, I noticed that the engine mounts are completely FUBAR. Where can I get polyurethane engine mounts and a poly tranny mount for a 225 w/ an A904? And how can I support the engine while I'm changing the mounts? I see no way to hold the thing up |

I don't know where to get poly mounts, but rubber mounts can be found easily in autoparts stores. Are your mounts the biscuit type or the later spool type? When I changed my mounts (biscuit type) over the summer, I supported the motor under the oil pan with a very large block of wood and a floor jack. I simply unbolted the old mounts, jacked the engine up, slid the new mounts in and let it down. |

They're biscuit, I think. It's a 1970.

I use the same block of wood on the oil pan method. (Never changed the mounts, but i had to pull the passenger side mount to remove my oil pump) Just have a helper to tell you when to stop jacking. -Aaron |

Hey, I've done the same trick with the block of wood and jack under the oil pan only i've used it to take the transmission out... Justin |
