ower local track is proposing letting delay boxes into the pro and super classes, i know what they are and how they work but never used or set one up. first thing, can a foot brake car and driver have a chance against a such equiped car? second to run a delay box do you need a transbrake with 2step and what type ignition? msd? any help thanks terry

This is not going to be a popular opinion, but yes, a good footbraker will do fine against box cars. However, if you suck as a driver footbraking, a good box car (or good footbrake car) will kill you every time.

By the same token, if a driver is inconsistent on the lights footbraking, he will still be inconsistent with a box.

Where a box becomes a real advantage is with a car that you can not make leave on time. It is a great aid for helping the car reaction time.

You can get a 2 step for just about any ignition system, not just MSD.

I have seen a brake used with 4 wheel line locs too, not just a trans brake.

i consider myself a pretty good driver and when i have a good number on the car for that day i do well in alimitnations. the new led tree system at the track is giving me some trouble being consistent on the tree.
