I'm not sure if this has been explored so I'm seeking your wisdom on this one. There's a bit of guesswork on the angle of the dangle and what size to drill but here goes:

Drill a tiny passage to inject oil from oil pump output cavity directly onto cam drive gear for improved distributor and oil pump drive gear lubrication (aprox WAG trajectory shown below by pointer wire/screwdriver tip) ;

you wouldn't be worried about reducing oil distribution to other areas by drilling the hole :?:

No, I wouldn't, I'm thinking it's another "controlled leak" like the tiny spurt hole some drill in the front gallery plug for lubing the cam timing gear. I'm not the smart one here though, so that's why I'm asking :D

There is a writeup about this in the Articles section of this website.

http://www.slantsix.org/articles/oil-pu ... report.htm

Doug has a write up with pics outlining how he approached increasing lubrication to the gear.

Egg on face here :oops: I saw that article and completely missed the part about pressing a roll pin or tube, I think I was mesmerized by his more advanced mod;
