There used to be a chain arround here called Al's Automotive supply, they were so awesome! cheap prices, great service, and sharps guys working there... once I went in to get a bypass hose for my supersix, the guy refused to let me pay for it... sometime later I went in to get calipers for the same car.. they had 2 sales going, a core charge sale and a Caliper sale, I end up getting a set of calipers for less than $30.

Well a few years back another chain bought them out Schucks, so all the stores became schucks, they fired all the smart, hard workers and now there are brainless morons working there. I called to get a choke pull off for my car, the guy kept telling me its part of the choke, and I need to order the choke it comes with it. I told him fine, I will order it, but when it comes back with no pull off. Someone is going to be in a heap....

Shucks is the S in CSK, which is a nation wide chain. Al's was great, they kept Shucks honest. The store at 19th and Broadway was great, Gary, the manager, was friendly and knowledgeable. If they didn't have the part, they would find it for you.

It is pretty sad when most of the autopart stores sell the same thing, for the same prices, that the only thing distinct is the commercials...

How about another take on this question: NEITHER!! :? I prefer dealing with CarQuest :!: Around here, none of the napa's are worth a @#$t, they cannot get the right part until they have made 4 trips to the shop, and by then the boss has crawled way up my behind because the car is still on the rack... As far as autozone, I worked there for a while and I tend to agree with whoever said armor all and such was all that they are good for, you wouldn't believe the returns, esp. on electrical stuff... Car Quest is the only one that will pull the book if the computer screen doesn't list or lists and don't make sense.. you wouldn't believe (neither do most of the countermen in my town) how much is still printed in BOOKS :?  (They still make them things :?: ) They surprise themselves how much that they actually DO stock or can at least get every time I make them get out their old door stops and look stuff up the old way! As for oil and such, Wal Mart blows everyone else out of the water on price there.
