Hello and welcome. Ok so here's the story behind the car. My wife just had a baby, well it was about a month ago or so. She informed me that I was not allowed to transport the little man, right little, he weighs almost 15lbs already, in my truck.

So I set out to buy a 4 door car. She happily agreed to this. Hehe, little did she know what I had in mind when I said I'd get us a 4 door car. I found this little beauty on E-bay. Yes I know it can be dangerous, but I asked as many questions as I could, got all the pictures I could think of. And I won! I won her for $750.00. I drove out Saturday the 27th and drove back with her the same day. That /6 was doing really well, I did stall out once at a red light, but that will hopefully be fixed in the coming week. I also have a new carb and Electronic Ignition coming this week. Well, lets put up some pictures.

Now for the bad stuff. She does idle rough, but drives fine. Might need just a tune up, but we'll be tuning and replacing all week to get her in good daily driver condition. Also she's got two or three small body woes. Here they are.

A dent on the passenger side fender, I should be able to get that out fairly easily.

This is the only thing that has me slightly concerned, I don't know what's behind that wonderful mud. So I'll be buying a patch panel to fix it up.

That's the only other spot on the whole car that I don't like. Other than that there's no rust on the car. Its wonderful!

Well I hope you enjoyed looking, but not touching, my pretty little car. I can't wait to get her purring. Thanks all for the info you've all provided, and the physical labor as well.

I had some time this past week and got some good stuff on to the car, still more to come though.

1. New 8mm Plug wires.
2. New MSD blaster 2 coil.
3. New Air filter, because when I opened it up there wasn't one in there!
4. New Plugs! NGK's as recommended by SSD.
5. Oil Change and Filter, the nice Napa Gold filter as suggested by SSD.
6. Electronic Ignition.

Things to come soon:

1. GM HEI module. As soon as I make a wiring Harness for it.
2. Super Six! Aluminum Intake and a Carter BBD from Phil!
3. A new Exhaust Manifold, turns out this one is cracked in two places, NICE!

Things I'd like to upgrade to:

1. Dutra Duals.
2. Disc Brakes, that brake fade is absolutely no fun.
3. 8 1/4" rear with a Sure Grip.
4. Large bolt pattern. It would be nice to be able to have more rubber in contact with the road.

I see you have a PA Flag on your avitar. what part of the state do you hail from?
I'm half way between Philly and Allentown.
I have most of a super six lying around the garage( Aluminum intake, carb, air cleaner, throttle return and kickdown springs), my brother in law has an exhaust manifold, all that is needed is the kickdown( which I could find any saturday).

You may also need inner trunk skirts (damned if I remember the proper name for these), the part of the trunk floor that comes down to meet the quarter panel. If the quarters are rusted that bad chances are the inner trunk part is too. I remember these were sold aftermarket some years back, not sure on their status now.

Instead of buying them, I made some out of sheetmetal. The bends are simple, nothing terribly complex, but do take some work. So you may want to think about making your own if you have the desire to fiddle a little and some scrap metal.

I'm from Pittsburgh, but the car is from Pottstown. Just wish I was closer, snagging that Super Six set up would be great in lieu of the current gas situation.

As for the inner trunk skirts (?). Yes there looks to be some rust there as well, just starting though. Weird thing...its on the opposite side as that damn mud. Go figure. And I don't mind fiddlin', why else would I buy a /6.

I've got some of the super six and disk brake conversion stuff that you are looking for. Don't buy a new 1bbl carb if you are going to super six! We can find you a good rebuilt carb locally at a reasonable price. (I think)

Shipping on an aluminum super six will be less than a 1/4 the price of gas out there, so why don't you ask Phil to ship it. Phil will be really fair, he's a good guy to know. You don't really need a different exhaust manifold unless yours is cracked, so save yourself the extra shipping weight.

If you need 'just the rod' for the kickdown, we can make one out of $4 of stuff from home depot and it will work exactly like the origional. You do need the bracket and slide plate (those are a little more work to reproduce, but I've done it before.)

Car looks great!, and glad I could help with the tow bar.

So lets see...what all has happened since I last updated this thing.

Well, I've installed a GM HEI conversion that you can find here. btw, on that, don't wire it backwards like i did the first time, it doesn't like that. i also made it so that I can hook the Mopar Electronic ECU back up at a moments notice.

Hopefully, come July or August I'll be able to replace the head with one that hasn't been toasted with one from Phil. I love this guy. :wink: He's selling me a head that's already been shaved and in nice shape, so that's a nice bump in compression.

By then I'll have enough time and money to put on the Super Six setup from him as well.

Lez see, I've also, with the help of Slant6Ram, Paul, shimmed the oil pump spring, replaced the oil sender, and replaced some of the light bulbs in the dash unit, kinda nice being able to see how fast you're going when its dark out.

Picked up a Large bolt pattern 7 1/4 rear end from Greg Ondayko, for a pittance, so that'll get switched at some point, I'll have some modifications to do before that will fit he says. By the time I'm ready to do that I'm going to try to have all the parts I need for a disk brake swap up front. That way I only have to carry around 1 spare.

That's all for now, at least that I can think of. Back to work with me!
